Software solutions provider Top Online Partners Group (TOPG) has confirmed that it has acquired Refunder, the largest cashback provider in Sweden.
Refunder currently has a member base of over 900,000 and expanded operations into Poland in 2018.
TOPG, which owns the UK cashback platform TopCashback, first registered interest in taking over Refunder in 2021, putting an agreement in place that a takeover would be completed by 2024. With this recent news, it’s evident that TOPG has completed the acquisition faster than expected.
TOPG has taken full ownership of Refunder, but the Swedish firm will remain independent, with staff remaining in place, including the team at Refunder’s Bast-I-Test product testing arm.
TOPG Shared Services Director and Refunder Chairman Chris Heather said: “We are delighted to have completed the deal 12 months ahead of schedule and have Refunder fully join the Group.
“We are really looking forward to building on the excellent working relationship we already have with Fredrik, Victor and the whole Refunder team to help them deliver their long terms plans for the business.
“As two companies bound by one mission – to help people save as much money as possible – our immediate priorities will focus on supporting Refunder’s innovative proposition to save their members even more money.”
The move comes as TOPG looks to further expand its reach, with Refunder now part of TOPG’s network of cashback platforms across Australia, China, France, Germany, the UK, and the US.
