Snapchat has introduced a collection of advertising updates intended to help retailers promote products and optimize campaigns around purchases made across websites and apps.
Named the Commerce Power Pack, the release adds catalog-based product advertising to Sponsored Snaps and introduces several tools for measuring or predicting where customers are most likely to convert.
The package arrives ahead of the holiday shopping season. However, some of its measurement features remain in beta or alpha testing, and Snap has not disclosed whether they will become generally available.
The performance figures were published by Snap and relate to specific company tests. They should not be treated as guaranteed results or universal campaign benchmarks.
Dynamic Product Ads for Sponsored Snaps allow retailers to place products from their catalogs directly within Snapchat’s Chat interface.
In its official Commerce Power Pack announcement, Snap describes Chat as the platform’s most-used surface. A commissioned 2024 survey found that 85% of Snapchatters use it regularly, although this figure is based on self-reported behavior rather than observed platform activity.
Dynamic Product Ads use AI-powered recommendation models to select products using advertisers’ catalogs and conversion signals. The Sponsored Snaps format is now available to advertisers globally.

Snap reported that Dynamic Product Ad campaigns optimized for Pixel Purchase produced a 22% improvement in seven-day cost per acquisition during a controlled test. However, that result relates to Dynamic Product Ads more broadly rather than specifically measuring the new Sponsored Snaps placement.
The announcement does not explain how individual signals are weighted when selecting products or provide separate performance results for catalog ads delivered through Chat.
The Commerce Power Pack introduces two optimization tools with different objectives and rollout stages:

Value Optimization can also work alongside Snapchat’s Unified Attribution product. This may help advertisers prioritize revenue rather than treating every conversion equally, although performance will depend on the quality and completeness of the supplied purchase data.
Snap’s Google Analytics figures cover an internal test conducted between May 18 and June 1, 2026. The Northbeam figures cover May 18 to June 7. Snap did not disclose the number of participating advertisers or provide a complete test methodology, so the results should not be treated as universal benchmarks.
Snap also cited a 2025 TransUnion analysis indicating that Snapchat produced a time to conversion half a day faster than other leading social platforms. However, the company did not publish a platform-by-platform comparison within its announcement.
A further tool, Omnichannel Optimization, is intended to capture and predict purchases across websites and apps within a single campaign.
Rather than requiring an advertiser to optimize separately for each destination, the system aims to direct delivery toward the channel where an individual shopper appears most likely to complete a purchase.
The product remains in alpha testing, making it the least mature component of the Commerce Power Pack. Snap has not provided a general release date or disclosed results from participating advertisers.
Snapchat’s tools may help retailers connect campaign delivery more closely with purchases recorded across websites, apps and external analytics platforms.
However, optimization is not the same as attribution. Snapchat can use purchase signals to improve ad delivery without establishing which creator, publisher or affiliate influenced the transaction.
That distinction becomes important when several channels contribute to the same customer journey. Recent affiliate commission and deduplication disputes show how different systems can assign credit for the same sale in conflicting ways. Regular attribution audits can help advertisers identify these conflicts when combining social ads, affiliate traffic and other acquisition channels.
The Commerce Power Pack does not introduce affiliate tracking, creator commission attribution or partner-level reporting. Affiliate teams will therefore still need separate order and partner data to determine who should receive credit for a conversion.
