Affiliate performance

Three steps to increase your affiliate program profit

Yesterday I had a consultation call with a brand new operator, who is ready to launch an affiliate program in-house.  During this exploratory conversation, the topic of affiliate program technology came up. They were in the process of reviewing which affiliate platform and technology to implement into their back end and asked me this question…

“What Tech do you recommend” – I swear,  If I had a dollar for every time I get asked this question – I’d be rich! ???
The short  answer is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution. There is no one tech to compete with all.  The truth is that every program,  business and platform is totally unique. The choices you make when you launch launch impact your program’s performance and profit over time. So it’s critical that you are getting the right information at the start of your journey to avoid costly errors later on.
Too often, I’m asked to “fix” affiliate programs that are broken, unprofitable, and literally being strangled (like a pot plant in a pot that’s way too small) due to poor infrastructure in planning and unsuitable technology choices. These are things that can be fixed, by the way, but really should be gotten right at the start of your affiliate program launch.
Here are three quick steps to take to maximise your affiliate program performance:
I want to help you get the most out of your affiliate program and make sure that you have the support you need to grow your business, using affiliate marketing as a key acquisition channel. In three quick steps, you can avoid having an affiliate program that doesn’t really perform for you. So, why wait?
1) Talk is cheap and in my case,  It’s actually FREE.
If you have an affiliate program that isn’t growing or performing the way you want it to be, give me a call and let’s have a quick chat. I can, in just 15 minutes, run a quick diagnostic and probably help you get things back-on-track quite quick. (I can do this, because I have 20 years of digital and affiliate marketing expertise behind me, I’ve been around the block a few times and I know how to navigate program growth across multiple industries and through a variety of adverse conditions.)
2) Book a strategy day for deeper exploration
For bigger or more complex affiliate programs, it starts with letting me have a good route around under the bonnet of your program and strategy. I call this a discovery or strategy day. It starts with you inviting me in to be part of your marketing team for a day. It’s about understanding who will use the platform, how it will be used and for what purposes you will need it for. It’s also about understanding your marketing objectives and strategy to match the tech and data you have so that it meets your objectives. Together we take a look at your data, other software and systems you use, and how it all needs to integrate and come up with a clear plan to help you get the best results.
3)  Get rid of unnecessary jargon and focus on results
Quite often people can get waylaid with things that don’t really impact your bottom line, or they get bogged down in admin, competitor reviews and industry jargon. If you’re struggling to understand the meaning of particular platform features and affiliate terminology, and need a bit of help on how to get things back on track again, help is at hand!

Whether you’re starting out or scaling up, your tech needs to support your business growth and provide you with the right tools you need to scale without breaking your profit margin. We can help you identify these features and requirements to prioritise them, not only saving you the effort, but the time and money involved in future-proofing your affiliate marketing platform.

Affiliate marketing doesn’t have to be complex, and we exist right here – to help you make it easy!
