eBay launches investment programme and regional roadshow

Leading online marketplace eBay has launched their plans for the eBay Business Roadshow plus an investment programme designed to help small businesses.

The roadshow is expected to head to 12 cities and towns across the UK between now and the end of March 2023.

To help with tailoring this scheme to the areas that they are headed to, they are working alongside Small Business Britain and the British Chambers of Commerce.

Sessions will include networking and training via the eBay Academy and are designed to boost the confidence and resources of small businesses. With many concerned about a lack of investment in the current climate, it is hoped that this will help to boost small business initiatives.

Murray Lambell, eBay UK’s general manager, said: “eBay has a long heritage in supporting our army of 300,000 small business sellers in both the good times and the more challenging times, so we’re very proud to build on this by announcing this first ever national Business Roadshow, which we hope will make a meaningful difference for small businesses and entrepreneurs across the country, providing them with the skills, investment and network to thrive in the long-term.

The Director General of British Chambers of Commerce, Shevaun Haviland, said: “Initiatives like the eBay Business Roadshow are […] vital to help small businesses. Not only in helping them to navigate such a complex business environment, but to provide them with much needed financial support so that they can best start up, scale and share.”
