Mr Green orders UK casino affiliates to stop advertising

Mr Green has ordered UK casino affiliates to stop advertising its products with immediate effect.

The company, which is an entity of MRG Group, sent out this notice following ‘recent changes in compliance’.

Notice

In an ‘urgent request’ it released, Mr Green said that “UK affiliates must pause all Mr Green  UK Casino and Live Casino promotions for the UK immediately”. This includes banners, text links, social media posts and pop-ups – plus all other marketing materials.

But despite demanding that promotion of its casino ceased, it did say that sports betting promotion could continue. In the same statement, the ex-Stockholm exchange-listed brand said the below.

“We have replaced all Casino and Live Casino banners with Sportsbook banners. We kindly ask that if you see any banners of these kinds still on your site, that you let your Account Manager know.

“We are working hard to resolve this issue and will be sure to let you know once you are able to promote Mr Green Casinos and Live Casino again.”

Follow-on

The news of Mr Green’s casino changes follow on from the closing of its sportsbook in Germany. This occurred towards the end of last month. Since then, the country’s 16 Federal States have sat down to discuss a more collaborative regulatory approach.

The company revealed this news via an email to affiliates, which was circulated on 20th January 2020.

MRG said referred to its “international performance” as “mixed” in its unaudited January 2020 trading statement. The company expects net revenues to be flat for the close of its full-year 2019 trading.
