Kindred Group is set to close the doors of its Maria Casino brand across the UK market, effective from May 7 2019, while it shifts its focus towards its Unibet and 32Red brands.
As detailed by the Kindred Group, new players have been prevented from signing up while current players will be able to withdraw funds up until May 14th.
The group commented: “Maria Casino will close on the UK market on 7th of May. We recommend Maria Casino customers to withdraw their balance before the 7th May. The customer will be able to log in into their Maria account to withdraw their money until the 14th May.
“But after the 7th May they won’t be allow to play, deposit, etc. only the withdrawal option will be available. Kindred Group has decided to focus fully on our two strong brands in the UK market – Unibet and 32Red.”
The news comes as Kindred Group Plc has had Q1 2019 profits “significantly impacted” by the changing betting landscape in its home market of Sweden. Swedish market costs have impacted metric performance – with EBITDA falling to £30.6 million (Q1 2018 £47.5m)
The Maria Casino website has addressed the terms of the closure of the casino, clarifying that “If your bonus funds aren’t used by the 7th May, they will be forfeited.”
