Integrity deal extended between Sportsradar and Germany’s DFL

The organisation that manages the German Bundesliga and two Bundesliga club football competitions, Deutsche Fußball Liga (DFL), has renewed its integrity partnership with Sportradar.

With the deal covering the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons, it has seen an extension on the partnership that started in 2005.

Sportradar will be continuing to use its Fraud Detection System (FDS) in order to monitor matches for betting manipulation across the global market.

The agreement will cover all Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches, as well as the regulation play-offs, the Super Cup and also friendly games which invoice Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 teams, both in Germany and abroad.

In addition to this, Sportradar will be working with the DFL in order to deliver training on the dangers of max-fixing to players and staff within Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs. This will include an e-learning tutorial which addresses gambling addiction.

The renewal comes after the German Football Association appointed Genius Sports to develop and launch a new integrity programme earlier this week, which will help prevent match-fixing and betting-related corruption.

The deal will begin from the 2019-20 season, where Genius Sports will be using its Bet Monitoring System to track betting activity for over 7,500 games for each year of the agreement.
