Oddschecker Global Media has appointed Nick Wilby, formerly Head of Sports Publishing at Catena Media, as its new Head of US.
An igaming professional with expert knowledge of the gambling and sports industries, Wilby has ten years of extensive affiliate marketing, digital marketing, content marketing and SEO experience, and has managed the P&L for a number of award-winning projects in the British, Australian and American markets. He has also been published in some of the UK’s leading newspapers and magazines, including the Huffington Post.
The appointment comes after the odds comparison site disclosed sizeable growth in its H1 Review last month, with 29% and 20% growth in users on desktop and mobile web respectively.
Near-exponential growth was also seen via the Oddschecker app, which now takes almost a 25% share in bet volume and is proving particularly beneficial for those bookmakers with the more user-friendly APIs.
Some other period highlights include over two million unique users per month, involvement with one in ten UK online bets and ‘dictating the destination’ of over £2 billion stakes per year.
The firm also pledged to donate 5p from every bet placed on Cheltenham Festival to the Injured Jockeys Fund (IJF), with racing royalty such as Ed Chamberlin, Oli Bell, Fran Berry, Rishi Pershad, Tom Stanley, George Baker and Brian Toomey all on board.
